Three-time FSF Scholar Jane Terrell is building a career at the forefront of kidswear trend forecasting, helping brands stay ahead in an ever-evolving market. A 2018, 2019, and 2020 FSF Scholar and Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) alum, Jane turned her passion for children’s fashion into a career as a Kidswear Strategist at Fashion Snoops, a leading consumer insight and trend forecasting company in New York City.
Jane credits FSF as a driving force in her journey. Her first Case Study Competition win in 2018 led to an internship in dancewear, an industry close to her heart, and a semester studying abroad in London. Winning again in 2019 gave her the financial freedom to live in NYC for an unpaid summer internship — an opportunity that led directly to her current role. As a Finalist in 2020, Jane used her scholarship to stay afloat during the uncertainty of the pandemic, all while growing her industry connections and securing full-time work.
Ahead, Jane shares additional insights into how FSF shaped her career, the power of mentorship, and why understanding youth culture is more important than ever in fashion.
