The Fashion Scholarship Fund and renowned streetwear designer and FSF friend, Eric Emanuel are pleased to announce that FSF Class of 2020 and 2021 Scholarship recipients will have the opportunity to participate in a print design competition. Three winners, each of whom will receive a $5,000 creative stipend, will have their patterns incorporated on a limited edition run of Eric Emanuel mesh shorts (worn by celebrities such as: Justin Bieber, Post Malone, Adam Levine, James Harden, and Lebron James, among others). 100% of the net proceeds from these limited edition runs are being generously donated to the Fashion Scholarship Fund.

Eric was deemed the “King Of Shorts” by High Snobiety- read more here. Plus, read about his first store opening in the former BAPE’s NY Flagship here.

To give you some insight as to what inspires an Eric Emanuel pattern, let Eric tell you himself: “When I go to the drawing board, the early stages generally consist of me thinking of what I am into and what has not been done before. Last year, I was super into rugs; to me they are a form of art and beauty that you only enjoy at home. These same patterns can live as a garment as the language is the same. This year, I am obsessed with wallpaper-- through old 60’s/70’s films I found so many beautiful Parisian wallpapers that I then rework into the short. I say all of that to say this- ANYTHING CAN WORK! Go with your gut if you think it’s beautiful- it probably is. The sky is the limit, and I cannot wait to see what you all come up with.”

When developing your print, consider creativity and the uniqueness of the pattern. You are encouraged to conduct in depth research on Eric Emanuel, also known as “the king of shorts” that includes the company’s business model, product assortment, pricing, digital campaigns, and most important, its customer.
