She spends much of her time abroad, often in Berlin, London, Milan and Paris, where she seeks out offbeat trends, vintage treasures and avant-garde eye candy to garner global trend insights.
Volpe credits the Fashion Scholarship Fund for her entry into the New York fashion industry. "With immense gratitude and eagerness, I accepted a paid internship with Ross Dress for Less while I was an Apparel Merchandising & Design major at Iowa State University," Volpe states. "Being nominated as a FSF recipient enabled me to move to New York City where I received hands-on experience with top fashion industry executives and met face-to-face with a plethora of other creatives in related fields."
She proudly maintains her support of the FSF as an Alumnus - attending Alumni networking events, industry insider panels and judging case studies and design collections of prospective FSF recipients. Volpe is also on the board of the Executive Advisory Council for The College of Human Sciences at her alma mater, Iowa State University, on which she facilitates curriculum and raises funds for future industry leaders.
